Revvin’ 4 Research Celebrates 16th Anniversary, raising over $15,000
More than 300 motorcyclists participated in a charity ride to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama
On Sunday, September 29, the 16th annual Revvin’ 4 Research motorcycle ride in Pelham, AL was an amazing event filled with the sounds of roaring engines. Presented by Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson and Process Barron, this ride supported the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) and raised over $15,000 for local breast cancer research. It was heartwarming to see over 327 riders on 225 motorcycles, with some traveling from out of town and out of state to attend.
The amazing team at Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson, including the General Manager Mike DeSantis, is thrilled to be partnering once again with the BCRFA and bringing the motorcycle community together for such an important cause. “Here at Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson, we truly believe in the power of unity and the impact of breast cancer research in the lives of so many,” shared Mike DeSantis. “We are so grateful for the incredible support from our community in backing the BCRFA. Together, we are truly making a difference in the fight against breast cancer.”
The one-hour scenic route, accompanied by law enforcement from various jurisdictions, included a memorable sight as riders in their “pinked-out” motorcycles of all shapes and sizes passed under a large American flag proudly displayed by the Pelham Fire Department, showing the strong support of the motorcycle community for the cause.
BCRFA’s President and CEO, Beth Davis, shared her deep gratitude for the sponsors and riders who made this achievement possible. “The funds raised at this year’s Revvin’ will directly support the most cutting-edge breast cancer research happening right here in Alabama,” Davis said. “Our mission is fueled by the dedication of the sponsors and every rider who participated. Thank you for helping us build a future without breast cancer.”
Since its inception in 2009, Revvin’ for Research has raised nearly $250,000 to support local, lifesaving breast cancer research in Alabama. One in eight women and one in 833 men will battle this disease.
2024 event sponsors and supporters included: Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson, Process Barron, Chef Jason Dodd – Breaking Bread Catering, Randy Hammond, Birmingham Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Dentons Sirote, iHeartMedia, Law Tigers of Alabama, and WBRC 6 News.
