Igniting the Flames of Hope: Alabama Firefighters Unite for Pink Ribbon Project
Fire departments statewide are coming together to raise funds for vital breast cancer research that saves lives in our local communities
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) is excited to share that we’re teaming up with fire departments across the state for the yearly Pink Ribbon Project t-shirt campaign. This campaign is all about honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and raising funds for breast cancer research in Alabama.
Get ready to support a great cause! Your local fire departments are offering limited edition Pink Ribbon Project t-shirts for sale to the public. Short sleeve shirts are just $15, while long sleeve shirts are $20. Every purchase will go towards funding crucial breast cancer research.
The Pink Ribbon Project began in 2010 when a group of fire departments joined forces with BCRFA to organize a city-wide fundraiser for breast cancer research. Their goal was to keep all funds raised within Alabama to support local research efforts and attract top researchers to the state. The project kicked off in 2011 and has raised an impressive $608,424 to date.
While the t-shirt designs have evolved over the years, the core mission of the Pink Ribbon Project remains unchanged: to raise both awareness and funds for breast cancer research across the state.
Community members and businesses are invited to show their support by stopping by their nearby participating fire stations, buying a Pink Ribbon Project t-shirt, and capturing a photo with the courageous firefighters. Photos posted on social media tagging the BCRFA (@BCRFAlabama) might be showcased by the organization.
