STOKES AUTOMOTIVE RAISES $7,100 FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH IN OCTOBER IN SUPPORT OF BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
Birmingham, AL (December 10, 2019)—In their inaugural initiative in October, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Stokes Automotive of Clanton, AL partnered with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) to support the BCRFA’s mission to fund life-saving breast cancer research in Alabama.
Stokes participated in multiple efforts to support the effort and raise money for research. Throughout October, Stokes committed to donate $100 for every new car sold in October. By the time October 31st came around, that pledge totalled $7,100 in support for the nonprofit organization. Stokes also signed up to sponsored a chance to wine a new car with a Hole-in-One contest at the Calera Goes Pink Golf Tournament at Timberline Golf Club on October 20th.
“We are so excited that we were able to partner with Stokes Automotive throughout the month,” said Beth Davis, Executive Director for the BCRFA. “This new partnership resulted in critical funds which will ultimately save lives.”
All of the proceeds from the Stokes Automotive fundraising efforts will support local breast cancer research. For every dollar raised, the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center is able to generate at least $14 in federal funding, generating an even greater impact to the fight against breast cancer.
“It is real important that we do this,” Kirk Stokes, owner of Stokes Automotive, said. “Cancer effects a lot of people…we are glad to help any way we can.”
Stokes has plans to make this an annual partnership with the BCRFA in October until breast cancer is no longer a public health threat.
