First National Bank of Talladega Raises Money for Research as part of their 5th Annual "Tickled Pink Day"

November, 2008

The First National Bank of Talladega presented BCRFA Program Director, Jennifer Galbreath with a check for $1960 to fund breast cancer research.  The donation was raised by employees and customers of the bank as part of their 5th Annual "Tickled Pink Days" held in October.
The FNB employees also hosted a "Survivor Tea" for members of the community with home-made treats and a pink bag filled with thoughtful gifts from the giving and loving hearts of the First National Bank of Talladega.  The attendees were from the Talladega and surrounding areas.
The FNB employees also sold t-shirts with the "Tickled Pink Day" logo.  For 4 years the bank has had a beautiful pink ribbon quilt made and donated by FNB employee, Susan Arnold.  Employees of the bank received donations for breast cancer research from customers to enter for a chance at winning the coveted quilt.  This year along with the pink ribbon quilt, Betty Conway, a 15 year breast cancer survivor, made a pink blanket to raise money for research.
The FNB employees had several additional fundraising activities.  The employees of the bank are planning additional fundraisers throughout 2009 including friendly competitive challenges between the departments.
